English as a Second Language (ESL) Program
Our ESL program is offered to ELL’s (English Language Learners) in our consistent goals of fostering a more inclusive environment. Instruction is in accordance with the Texas Essential Knowledge and SKills (TEKS) and follows the guidelines of the English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS).
The program is under the guidance of our ESL-certified specialist who also provides learning opportunities for homeroom teachers to incorporate best practices for teaching ELLs in the classroom.
In addition to direct student instruction, our ESL specialist collaborates closely with homeroom teachers by offering professional learning opportunities and classroom strategies that promote effective, research-based practices for teaching ELLs.
