Parents’ Responsibilities
- Providing their child with materials and supplies that are requested by their teachers.
- Providing nourishing breakfasts for their child every day.
- Providing their child with a nourishing lunch.
- Candy is not permitted at school. Students may lose their appetite.
- Paying all tuition, fees, and fines according to the agreed upon terms and signing a financial contract.
- Completing all appropriate applications and forms.
- Providing short medical report of your child.
- Notifying the director regarding any changes in family circumstances of ability to comply with the school’s rules and regulations.
- Dropping off the child at the classroom to a staff member and sign on the drop-off/pick-up sheet.
- Informing the school about the people authorized to pick up your child.
- Staying updated by following our Facebook, etc. for inclement weather.
- Keep up with communications with school and the teacher, and attend any scheduled parent-teacher conferences.
Adab / Manners
Hijaz Academy students are expected to be courteous and to use good manners at all times. This is a standard expectation in the classroom, cafeteria and in all other areas of the school. Recognition programs will be in place to compliment appropriate manners. Students who do not use good manners will be reminded of the school’s expectations. Acceptable behavior is important and required at Hijaz Academy; there is adab and etiquette for every situation. Students are expected to observe school and classroom manners and etiquette. Proper discipline will be discussed with students and expectations will be defined. However, for the best outcome, communication, cooperation and consistency between home and school is necessary.

- Hitting
- Scratching
- Biting
- Kicking
- Snatching
- Stealing
- Lying
- Shouting and Screaming
- Saying Bad Words
Hijaz Academy will not tolerate:
- Lying
- Horsing Around
- Saying Bad Words
- Whining
- Tantrums
- Shouting and Screaming
- Being rude and disrespectful to other children & teachers
- Throwing toys and other objects
The goal of HIJAZ ACADEMY staff is the development of each child’s internal controls leading to socially acceptable behavior is in our center. Encouragement and praise will be the basis of discipline policy. If a child displays inappropriate behavior, staff will talk with the child quietly to explain why the behavior was wrong. An example of appropriate behavior is given. If a child continues to use inappropriate behavior “TIME OUT” will be used.
